Re: Destination Unknown- June 28th 2008, Lost Wages, Nevada
Fri, May 23, 2008 - 6:15 PMUpping the ante, er wattage, has me thinking even more about going! I'll see how well I hold up at Gemini.
Hey, ain't it hot in the desert north of Las Vegas in June? Is there a way for me to stay cool, especially during the day time. I don't do very well in the heat though I will continue to keep on despite this. Not a good thing if it is too hot. Give me some ideas, perhaps I can come up with some way to help my situation out and kick some towards others too. I suppose bringing water is a good idea. Maybe a shade structure as a minimum might keep me out of the direct rays. Yeah, those are simple and sold in lots of places. Carport size would shade my vehicle as that is where I have my bed though it seems I sleep little at a gathering. It is still nice to lay vertically on occasionn. Hmm, about the heat itself. I saw a misting machine at a park. I'll see what I can find, but first getting to your gathering is going to be 350 miles for me. Perhaps I can carpool and share costs? I'll kick in and help drive too, Los Angeles is only 34 miles northwest from my house, though it is out of the way for going to southern Nevada. Maybe a rendezvous or leave from here will work? This gas price rise is putting a damper on my freedom to move about the country. I am going to see what I can do about getting there. I travel many places alone. Always a drag when you need your spot in line saved for some reason. :)
Willy, Alfredo, and more to be announced? Psytrance too? I like the rise up and the ride back. Leaves a good glow for the trip home. -

Re: Destination Unknown- June 28th 2008, Lost Wages, Nevada
Sat, May 24, 2008 - 3:37 AMMisters would be a great idea and can add to what we are planning very well. As for a carpool i am sure that the Terrakroma crew can at least have advice. Carports are AWESOME in the desert, just remember that it gets windy FAST so make sure you bring a method to keep it in one spot, usually rebar and rope works great. The drive really isn't that long from LA it usually takes me about 3.5-4 hours from my door to Simi Valley. -

Sat, May 24, 2008 - 7:49 PMSpray bottles work well if you can't find a mister thingy. Add a little peppermint essential oil and its very refreshing.
