Was anyone else saddened by the state of that beautiful ranch? Beer cans, glass bottles, everything strewn all over the dance floor and surrounding areas. I loved the gathering, but felt deeply embarrased by the lack of awareness of the majority of the Into the Wild attendees about not throwing their garbage on the floor!
Anyone?

Re: Trash
Tue, July 1, 2008 - 8:55 PMCan someone please delete what I typed above? It was wrong of me to compare Moontribe to Psytribe. I was not thinking. I realized I shouldn't have even THOUGHT that after it was too late. If there is a way to delete your own comments I don't know it. -

Wed, July 2, 2008 - 12:26 AMI'm trying, I'm trying! :) Stupid Tribe won't let me delete comments, ridiculous. In any case nice of you to apologize publicly and I will try to delete both of your comments and then it'll be like it never happened!

Re: Trash
Mon, June 30, 2008 - 8:36 AMWe left Sunday around 10:30 and as we were policing our camp spot someone actually laughed at us...
This was a cross-over event, and a lot of people I met, never did the campout thing or even heard of psytribe.
I can understand the dance floor garbage, but not on the trail to the cars...
A GOOD THING - every trash can I saw was overflowing. - Maybe a 4am trash can switch out is needed.
Bad thing- Ashtrays - I smoke and field strip my cig, then throw in trash. How'bout several metal old bbq's that could be used as ashtrays?
Bad Thing - I didn't see trash cans in the parking areas.
Blast from the past....at Dead shows, they used to give you a handout at parking, it described where bathrooms/first-aid/garbage policies etc...
Although sinage was great, a flyer at entrance explaining this explicitly, may not be a bad idea.
Or maybe just raise ticket price $1 and pay for a clean up crew - ( I know not the answer, but it makes the guilt less...maybe)
or CleanUp Crew Ticks - half price tix - for two hours of clean-up time after show (you'd get the refund AFTER you clean up. -

Re: Trash
Mon, June 30, 2008 - 11:36 AMThanks all for your comments and concerns about the trash situation at the party. Clean up at the ranch is going full power today and we will have the ranch as clean as we found it. I agree - we will have more trash cans and bags available at the next one. We had almost 1000 people there (!) and so unfortunately trash is to be expected.
As we hoped, there were a lot of new people at the party who are not aware of the outdoor partying rules - I am sure they will soon learn to maintain the location and throw things away instead of on the ground. Just keep up the good work and set an example and they will catch on.
Can't wait for some pics - please post as soon as you can! -
